thymoproteasome
Similar to the immunoproteasome, the thymoproteasome is a modified proteasome with β1i and β2i, however where the immunoproteasome has β5i, the thymoproteasome has β5t encoded by PSMB11.
The thymoproteasome can be found in epithelial cells of the thymic cortex (cTECs). Evidence shows peptide:MHC complexes produced by the thymoproteasome are important in CD8+ t-cell development in the thymus.
